I have a discharge from my vaginal area that has a really bad odor. What is it? The discharge may be due to a bacterial or fungal infection (yeast). Only after a thorough evaluation by your gynecologist, including history, a physical and microscopic inspection (to identify the organism) can the necessary therapy be prescribed. My husband has RA. He takes 10 mg of prednisone, 100mg of voltaren-xr, 20 mg of arava a day. He was on mthotrexate 6 pills of 2.5 mg a week, and told me today that for the past two years once every 2 months he has bloody stools. He won't tell the doctor about his RA because he's afraid he'll take him off his medicine. I told him to go to his regular doctor but he said no because this has been going on for 2 years and it hasn't changed. What are the side affects of his medications? The medications your husband is receiving can cause bloody stools. There may be another cause, however, such as tumors of the colon or other diseases affecting the stomach, small and large intestines. Your physician can easily determine the cause by an examination and diagnostic tests. I urge that your husband discuss this with his physician as soon as possible. I recently had a blood test for lead levels and my score was 23. I suspect it may have been higher at one time; in what way can this affect people mentally? Acceptable lead levels for children are around 10 mcg/dl and for adults, 40 mcg/dl. Lead can be harmful to health and cause problems when it builds up in the body. Too much lead in the human body can cause serious damage to the brain, nervous system and red blood cells. Pregnant women and young children are at the greatest risk, even with short-term, low level exposure. The younger children are the more affected, causing slow physical growth, behavior problems and mental retardation. I am a college student looking for a two year nursing program in our area. I am her primary caretaker and I am the only one who gives her twice-daily injections. If so, how do I go about this and is it covered by insurance. We have HIP insurance. Also, a friend of mine was recently given Wellbutrin by his doctor in order to relieve stress.
