Some days when I bend down (head to toes), I feel throbbing pressure (like blood in a head rush) along the my neck, by the jaw, more painful on the left side. After a few seconds it starts to go away. My upper sinuses are rather clogged, and they hurt too when I do this. Strange, but it seems like belching (even going to the bathroom) alleviates it. It's only when I bend down. I'm a 23-year-old male and have never had high blood pressure. Is this something to see a doctor about? It could be sinusitis, or increased acidity in your stomach causing the belching. I strongly recommend that you see your physician so that the cause of your problem is determined and appropriate therapy started. I have had a typical cold stuffy nose, mucas, slight cough, this morning when I awoke, I could barely hear out of my ears (they feel like I just experienced a change in altitude). What is it and what can I do? You may have an upper respiratory infection, possibly allergy, or due to a virus. Your Ear Nose and Throat Physician should be consulted if the condition worsens. In the meantime, you may try a decongestant to see if it clears up. Your pharmacist can be helpful. I have been taking 20 mg of Prozac for the last 2 years. Recently I have started a low fat diet with 20 to 40 minutes of exerices 3 times a week. At this point I stoped taking the Prozac. It has been over 3 weeks now, I have been expierenceing dizziness. My sugar level was check by a friend as well as my blood preasure. Sugar was at 86, blood presure was 140/90. Are either one of these something that would cause the dizziness or is it the Prozac that I no longer take? Also, when first starting the diet, the amount of water consumption caused bloating, with weight gain of almost ten pounds. I took a water pill with potasium for 2 weeks, would this have a cause of the dizziness? If you proceeded to go on a diet without consulting with your physician, stopping Prozac without his/her consent, that would be wrong. Your blood sugar and blood pressure, if it was taken by other than a physician, may not be accurate. The sugar appears to be lower than normal and the diastolic level of 90 is slightly above normal. Again, from all your symptoms and concerns, please see your physician so that he can evaluate you and determine what the problem is and the appropriate therapy. Stage IV is the highest level of the disease. It is difficult to determine with any exactness how long he will live. You should consult with your physician regarding any questions you have. There are home care services, like Hospice, which you should explore for him if you haven't already. They provide a very expert team to help with all of his and your needs. Hospice of Westchester at (914) 682-1484, would be helpful if you are interested in this Service. Where can I find infomation on the perscription drug "Concerta," given to my son for ADD? There are two sources for information: the pharmacist where you got the prescription filled, and your local library which has the "Physicians Desk Reference." Look in the brand and generic name index. Your pharmacist should be your first step. My family has just bought an ear thermometer. We have three children, ages 9, 12 & 14 (Boys) and, when they aren't feeling well and feverish, this seems to be a poor substitute. Orally it often seems that boys have difficulty due to mouth breathing, with one pediatrician's office still taking rectal when oral isnt working. I feel this is best too, but wanted to know a professional opinion. Both rectal and oral are satisfactory for your three children, if they are using them properly and following the directions. Ear thermometers also should work well, again following written directions. In summary, any of these three are good. If you have further questions or concerns, consult with their pediatrician. I feel pregnant: my period is late, I've got nausea, sore breasts and my stomach is bloated. But, I've done 2 home tests which have been negative. What do you think? Your menstrual history and age are to be considered. This could also be related to hormonal changes leading to menopause, not pregnancy. Consult with your physician to determine the cause and if necessary, appropriate treatment. Twice in the last 6 months I have had sudden attacks of vertigo lasting only a few minutes. Three days ago, I had another attack and it has lasted for 3 days now. Have had a headache off and on everyday for 2 months now. Also...every morning my nose bleeds some, sometimes during the day when I blow it there is blood and dried blood. This has been going on for over 2 months. Have taken cephalexin (one round), no change. I quit smoking (from 2 packs a day) about 3 months ago. Do these symptoms ring a bell with you? Also have a ringing in one ear and a few pops in the right ear on occasion. The vertigo is very debilatating. Need to work..can't drive! Help! Does any of this come with stopping smoking? The symptoms you describe do not appear to be caused by not smoking, but to some underlying cause. You could have an inner ear problem or there may be some other reason for your symptoms. I strongly recommend that you see your physician for a complete workup to determine the cause and appropriate treatment.
