I have been
having bad headaches with lots of pressure behind my eyes for about
6 months. I do have a history of migraine headaches but these are
much different, and continueing to worsen. My doctor has perscribed
me several medications, everything from antidepressants to Neurotten
(an antiepileptic drug). The headaches are not the only pain I have
been dealing with but by far the worst, do you have any suggestions?
I feel like the doctores think I'm crazy that this pain is not real
but I know it is and this whole thing is making me depressed, which
I was not before this started.
I have a very
close friend who has been referred to an Endocrinologist by her
OB/GYN. She is 24 and has never been pregnant or miscarried. She
is experiencing problems with her breasts lactating. She says it
does not occur with any pattern, randomly and without warning. She
said the fluid was of a creamy color and also of a "dirty water"
color. She will be seeing this specialist once her second-round
of blood work comes back. But the 1st round of blood work run by
her OB/GYN, all came back with level within the correct guidelines.
They are now checking her Thyroid level among other things on the
second attempt. Have you ever heard of symptoms she is experiencing?
My grandmother
takes 12 Excedrins (600mg) a day. Is that too much and are there
any kind of side effects to taking this many?

I recently
took 2 tablets of excedrin when suddenly about 15 minutes later
I felt confused and dizzy. I felt like I could not breathe and was
going to pass out. Should I see a doctor for this problem? I should
also say that I had a lot of caffeine that day and that could have
caused some panic attack.
I am taking
100 mg of Zoloft a day for the last year I would like to switch
to St. Johns wort. How long does it take to get Zoloft out of your
system?
My wife has
had a problem arise with a compressed disc in her lower back. They
did a PAP smear on her, and are sending her to a GYN because of
a development of desplacia. What does that mean in the human body?
We know it could become cancerous, so we would like to know what
this means.
I am a college
student doing a paper on Ritalin. I could receive some information
on the drug, its usage, dosage, and its effects on children.

If you have not had a full neurological
exam with indicated diagnostic tests -- lab or radiological, this is something
you can discuss with your physician. Possibly also consider a referral
to a Neurologist, and for your eye symptoms, an Ophthalmologist, if this
has not been already done. Please consult with your physician regarding
your concerns and questions.

Any discharge from the breast should be
evaluated. The process and steps your friend is taking are correct. The
causes can be multiple, and a complete medical and laboratory evaluation
is the proper way to determine the diagnosis and treatment. Testing for
hormonal changes, thyroid and other hormone levels is appropriate.

12 Excedrins (600mg) a day. Is that too much and are there any kind of
side effects to taking this many?
The usual daily dose of Excedrin is 3.2-6
grams a day in divided doses. It is dependent on the diagnosis for which
this medication is required -- arthritis, rheumatic fever, cardiac ishemia
attacks, myocardial infarction, etc. The amount your grandmother is taking
seems to be excessive. There are problems and side effects when taken
with other drugs. In the elderly, the dose has to be closely monitored
because the drug is not metabolized (broken down) as in younger adults
and can cause gastric irritation, bleeding and pain. Please have her consult
with her physician regarding the appropriate dose of this medication to
be taken based on her medical condition.

Your symptoms could be caused by an allergic
response to the Excedrin or the excess coffee you drank. Whether it was
a panic attack is another question. Your medical history would be important
to know and what the true cause of the response which caused these symptoms.
You should consult with your physican for a medical evaluation to determine
the cause and appropriate treatment.

How long does it take to get Zoloft out of your system?
Taking any non-prescription drugs or herbal
medicine should not be done since you are taking Zoloft presently under
your physician's direction. Doing so without consulting with your physician
could be dangerous. Such herbal medicine may not be helpful, could have
serious side-effects and not be appropriate for your diagnosis for which
he/she prescribed Zoloft.

Displasia means that there are changes in
the cells lining the cervix. That could mean the beginning of a pre-malignancy
condition. They do not have the normal appearance of cells.
