Does morphin affect the way blood thinners work. My Nanna is on Heparin and is having bad anginna attacks.

Is it safe to take cough medicine with codine in it, if I am on Wellbutrin?

My husband is a construction worker(buildings). Lately he has been complaining that he has severe foot pain under his feet. He says it feels like a horrible headache, only in the feet. Every morning he can barely walk. He says as soon as they warm up they are okay. But as the day goes on he says they start throbbing and can hardly wait to sit by evening. He is 37 and otherwise very healthy. He will not go to the doctor. Please help.

I am searching for information regarding Dilantin toxicity and what role does it play in contributing to dementia . Also looking for elevated serum protein levels and do they give false readings in Dilantin levels.

What would cause pains on my right side between my hip and my ovary? I have a cist but, this feels nothing like it normally does.

My son is 19 old has blood pressure 140/90. We discovered it a year ago during his physical exam. His physician can not find anything wrong with him. My son is athletic, plays basketball, lifts weights.

Your grandmother has several risk factors--diabetes, cardiac disease and asthma, so that the use of any medication has to be used with caution. The morphine and heparin are specific indications for pain and blood thinning. Re: Pandine Forte, I cannot find it in our drug references.

In any event, the questions and concerns you have regarding the use of all these medications, should be addressed to the cardiologist and cardiac surgeon providing care to your nana. All risk factors should always be considered before administering drugs.

Is it safe to take cough medicine with codine in it, if I am on Wellbutrin?

As an antidepressant, Wellbutrin has side effects which your physician, pharmacist, as well as the drug insert dispensed with the medication should provide to you. Codeine has side effects also, such as dizziness or drowsiness and the need to avoid alcohol. Wellbutrin can cause agitation and insomnia (the reverse of codeine. It is difficult to tell exactly what effects are of taking both drugs together. It depends on the dose. It is recommended that you consult with your physician regarding your concerns and any questions that you may have.

The pain he is having is probably occupation related. He should see a podiatrist or an orthopedist to be fully evaluated and to determine the cause and appropriate treatment. It can lead to serious consequences if not treated.

The questions you pose are complex. Dilantin, from the Physician's Desk Reference, mentions some adverse reactions affecting the Central Nervous System. Whether there is a correlation between the use of Dilantin and dementia, I do not know. As to whether there is a relation to elevated serum protein levels, this resource does not mention that. If there has been any research study or scientific abstracts on this topic, a possible search on the internet such as Medlineplus.gov or www.nlm.nih.gov, could be a resource.

What would cause pains on my right side between my hip and my ovary? I have a cist but, this feels nothing like it normally does.

The right side of the body has the following organs: liver, large intestine, appendix and kidney towards the rear. It is important to know whether the pain is localized, tender to the touch, referred upwards, downwards or to the back. Is there a connection with your menstrual periods, diet, physical activity? What other symptoms are you experiencing with the pain? A full medical evaluation can determine the cause and appropriate treatment.

The blood pressure level seems significant in a young adult. I am sure that his physician did a complete medical evaluation. In any event, your son should be monitored by his physician and if possible, get blood pressure readings 2-3 times a day over a short period of time. Record the readings along with any symptoms he experiences and report these findings to his physician. If you are still not satisfied, a second opinion by a Cardiologist is recommended.

What can happen to a person whose potassium level is too high?

High levels of potassium can cause serious side effects to the heart, neuro-muscular system or kidneys. If you have been treated by a physician, a diagnosis has been made, and appropriate treatment prescribed, you should be in constant touch with that physician for any questions or concerns that you may have.

My sister has been told she has displacia, and now the doctor wants to do a procedure, IMMEDIATLEY. What is it exactly and how do you get it?

I assume this involves the cervix . If it is, it means that there are changes in the cells of this area and the procedure is to do a cervical scraping and determine whether it is pre-cancerous and what further treatment may be necessary.
