Avoiding Stroke


  • Have your blood pressure checked regularly
  • If you already have high blood pressure, keep it under control by limiting salt in your diet and following your doctor's advice
  • Quit smoking
  • Get your cholesterol level checked regularly; if you have high blood cholesterol, limit fat (especially saturated) in your diet and follow your doctor's advice
  • Get your blood checked for diabetes and keep it under control
  • Lose weight by cutting down on fat and calories
  • Exercise
