A constant "angry attitude"
not also makes you antisocial, it can contribute to health difficulties
including upset stomach, heart problems and headaches. Here's how to "lighten
up":
-
Take a "time out."
When you're angered by something, take time to "chill" before
you act. Take a short walk until you calm down and then evaluate how
you're reacting.
-
Create distractions for
yourself. For example: Stuck in traffic? Listen to relaxing music
or other programming instead of pounding the steering wheel.
-
Write it down! Keep track
of how often your thoughts turn hostile, and why. You may discover
that most issues don't matter in the long run as much as you may have
thought!
-
Get help if you need it.
If you find yourself consistently unable to manage your anger, learn
meditation or get psychological counseling. Your health could depend
on it.
